If you know anything about no-gi jiu jitsu, you know that you sweat a lot and often end open mat, or practice, drenched in your and others’ sweat. This can be very disgusting if you think about it too hard, but lucky for you, we created Washy-Garami! An ultra cleansing bar, that helps you feel refreshed and clean; & whose namesake is a play on words for the jiu jitsu move Ashi-garami, which is a type of leg lock.
This listing is for one, Travel Size 0.7 oz bar of soap.
Designed for acne prone, sensitive, and dry skin | for use on hands, body, face, shoes, oil stains, & whatever else you use soap for!
External use only.
When we asked the jiu jitsu homies what they would want a bar specifically designed for them to smell like, there was a resounding request for eucalyptus, tea tree, and some kind of citrus. They thoroughly thought about this request too, as most of them cited that eucalyptus, tea tree, and citrus oils are naturally cleansing and antibacterial, a plus after rolling around with a bunch of sweaty adults. Unfortunately we haven’t made a bar with tea tree in it yet, but be on the look-out for it in the Fighter Pack, scheduled for release in Fall 2022!
With the focus being to create a bar that is ultra cleansing, I knew I had to use activated charcoal and aritha powder. Activated charcoal is excellent at absorbing and locking away dirt and excess oil, which is definitely what we want for this bar. Aritha powder cleanses without stripping natural oils and is often used in hair concoctions and herbal shampoos (& possibly Herbal Hannah’s future shampoo bars?!? *gasp*), which helps offset some of the more astringent properties of the activated charcoal.
Eucalyptus, green mandarin, and frankincense are the star scents in this blend. As stated above, eucalyptus and citrus oils, like green mandarin, have natural cleansing properties, not only for your body, but for your mind too. These oils enliven your senses, instantly boost your mood, and provide you with an energized calm (perfect after an intense rolling sesh). Frankincense equalizes these harsh scents by providing an earthy, warm note to the blend, while also lending a soothing quality to mind and skin.
Data & Conclusion:
Going with a swirly pattern really enhances the appeal of this bar, & is meant to remind you of waves, crashing down upon you, cleaning your energy and your body. I also love being able to see the brown specks of aritha powder through the charcoal. & the scent??? Perfect, spot on, well rounded.
The activated charcoal adds a little extra exfoliation to this bar and is a little more drying than some of our other bars, however, its cleaning power is unmatched for how gentle it still is.
